When it comes to birthdays, e cards are an easy way to show a coworker or friend that you have in fact remembered that it’s a special day for them. The great thing is, even if you find out it’s their birthday at the last minute (whether by remembering it on your own, or by hearing it through the grapevine), you never have to run out to the store to grab a card, as you can choose from a huge variety of fun e cards from the comfort of your own home or office computer. Also, you can have an e card personalized and sent in only a few minutes time, which is obviously very convenient.

Personally, when it comes to birthdays I like to send my friends and family humorous e cards as usually people are in a pretty good mood on their birthday (well, maybe that depends on how old they’re turning!), and enjoy the happy festive message that a humor e card sends. I also particularly like to send fun e cards that are animated as it’s nice for the recipient to simply sit back and enjoy a laugh or two while watching a short animated message. Also, many cards have pretty nice graphics in their animation and that’s  impressive as well enjoyable to watch.

Of course, online fun greeting cards are not just for birthdays and can be used for a huge variety of different occasions. Whether you want to reach out to someone for a personal milestone event like a birthday, anniversary, or graduation or are perhaps looking to send a card for a general holiday like Christmas or Easter there are tons of cards to choose from. Whether you’re seeking something friendly, sentimental or cute you’d have to pretty picky not to find an e card that meets your needs. Of course, I think most people prefer fun e cards because they are light hearted and usually good for a quick laugh, and who doesn’t like to laugh?

Trust me, it’s a horrible feeling knowing that someone you like has forgotten your birthday, and it feels just as bad to have forgotten a birthday! That’s why fun ecards are so great, because they are considered just as thoughtful and nice as physical cards, but can be found in only minutes and personalized in just a few extra minutes. Also, because fun e cards are often animated, they are usually funnier and more interesting than regular cards anyway. Such cards have helped me get out of many forgotten birthday binds, and made it so not only did I have a card to send to a friend of family member on their birthday, but it was a creative and interesting card as well.

Oh, what else is great about fun e birthday cards is if your loved one lives far away. In that case you’d have to remember to send a physical card weeks in advance, however with an ecard you can remember at the last minute and they’ll never know it. It just makes everyone feel good, and everybody wins!

There are advantages to both physical cards as well as ecards, and there’s no reason that you can’t utilize both. When it comes to convenience, I don’t think e cards can be beat, as they take only minutes to personalize, and of course you can spend as much or as little time picking them out as you like. I like to send out fun e cards to my friends, and often choose ones with jokes that I know will make them laugh. I especially like to send these when I know they are either going through a hard time and could use a chuckle, or when they’re at work and could use a small break and a laugh. There are many resources on the net that provide fun greeting cards for free, so it doesn’t even have to cost any money to make someones day.

However, you can’t overlook the importance of traditional physical cards either, as they are an item that you can keep for years and cherish. I usually reserve those cards for special occasions such as when sending romantic cards (like for anniversaries with my wife, or just to make her feel special), or when sending cards for weddings or of course when a new baby is born to someone I know.

I did have an embarrassing situation come up once though. You see I was looking at fun e cards online and wanted to send out one of the humor e cards I had found  to a close work colleague. The problem came when I accidentally sent the card out to the entire office staff. It was quite an embarrassing situation, and while many of my coworkers did quite enjoy the funny card, I don’t think it really made me look too professional.
